Family is one of the most powerful things we are given in this life, and I wanted to explore the sense of family through photographs. This project aims to break down the concept of family through a narrative that conveys belonging, home, and intimacy. The images capture the essence of family through shared moments, meaningful symbols, and quiet reflections. For me, family is rooted in the small details of those that I share a life with: the objects that carry generational stories, the rituals of everyday life, the people that I love, and the unspoken connections shared in a moment. Inspired by my own experiences and loved ones—spending time away from my family and returning during the holidays—I seek to document the tangible and intangible elements that make family bonds so important to our sense of identity and belonging.
Ultimately, this project is an invitation for viewers to reflect on their own experiences of family—whether found through shared history or forged through life’s serendipity—and the ways these bonds shape who we are.
